Introduction to Gas Fired Ceramics with Ferric Chloride – This is a 2 day course to fire your pieces in a gas kiln to create unique, interesting & one-off fired pieces of ceramic.

Day 1: Preparation of pieces for bisq firing. Preparing leather hard clay pieces to slip and burnish. Learn to apply terra sigillata slip. Demonstration and talk about creating gas fired ceramics. Learning about using barrel firing techniques and the materials needed for the firing process.
Day 2: Firing Day. Prepare pieces for gas firing. Pack the kiln and be involved in firing your pieces. 

Pieces can be collected at a time to be arranged dependant on when the barrel kiln is cool. Refreshments and lunch provided on both days (please state any dietary requirements when booking). Max. 10 students. This course is taught by Jon Crute.
