Three workshops on different elements of PMC work are taught by tutor Sally Spencer, FGA DGA. All materials, refreshments and lunch are included (please state any dietary requirements when booking). Maximum of 8 students.
Introduction to PMC – introducing Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and some of the techniques for working with this innovative material. During the day you will learn about the various forms of PMC3 and how the material can be used effectively. You will design a pendant and use various techniques to decorate it. You will also learn how to use PMC paste to make a pendant from a real leaf. Refining pieces prior to firing and finishing them will be demonstrated as will kiln firing. By the end of the day you will have an understanding of the basic techniques for working with Precious Metal Clay and will have completed two fine silver pendants.
PMC Earring workshop – suitable for beginners and those who have used PMC before. Come and learn how to make both stud and drop earrings using this innovative material where, as well as using manufactured ear hooks, you will also learn how to make your own. We will also explore using your own small treasures to make moulds then silver replicas of them.
PMC syringe pendant workshop – suitable for those who have used PMC before. We will learn how to design and construct a layered pendant using thick PMC paste in a syringe as well as discovering how to set a stone in PMC.
