This course is taught by Laura Murphy who specialises in creating slip-cast parian porcelain clay vessels and sculpture.

Introduction to Mould Making – Learn how to make a 1 or 2 piece plaster mould. You will leave the course having created a plaster mould using a supplied model which you can use to create multiple slip-cast clay versions of the same design. Demos and talks on types of moulds for different use (i.e. press-moulds, slip-casting) and how to calculate shrinkage. You will get advice on how to make moulds for your own shapes and designs and what materials you will need (feel free to bring example items or sketches for advice).
